Wow the band was full of CW this weekend, this is the weekend that thousands of
amateurs connect up their computers and send CW at the fastest speed they
can....usually 30 to 50 wpm !
I assume this tests out just how fast people can send, and your computer is
still capable of receiving. Mine seems good for around 50wpm, but after that the
dit and the dar seem to blur into one..
As some will know continuousness wining is not my favourite mode, but this year
I decided to embrace it and even found the button on my radio marked CW.
Having pushed myself to the bring, the easy part was setting up DM780 to work a
few CW stations.
Unlike other times on the band the CW being sent this weekend was being
perfectly sent from peoples computers, and so it mostly decoded OK and allowed
me to work 30 + stations.
I was "sending" at around 30 wpm and spent quite a bit of time on 28 MHz ..
Argh ... you never forget your fist time.
Now were did I put the paracetamol.
